WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. They are purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with a button, which displays an item's preview at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for instance.  upgrade item  and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

upgrade item  for items can be found in many places including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades must be acquired through various methods, which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is true even if those items come from an entirely different set of gear.

The discount is available to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. They can use Flightstones which are a general upgrade currency that is accessible to everyone players, or crests, which are more specialized and are consumed during upgrades on specific item levels. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. It is best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
